Merchandise - Posted on 10:21 AM CET Friday 06 Feb 2009 In TESP News
Manic Man
TESP News icon 7 New items of Sonic Merchandise have been added to the Merchandise Section, 3 of which are from the old SegaWorld London... i had the chance of going there once as a school trip but i decided i wanted my parents with me at the time (one thing, i didn't really have much money.. it would have been a bit pointless with extremaly limited money huh?) and what happened? well, never got the chance afterwards to go there before it closed... oh well.
I look Outside and i see... - Posted on 8:05 AM CET Monday 02 Feb 2009 In TESP News
Manic Man
TESP News icon I look outside my window and i see it's white.. not as bad as some places in the UK but Snow is all over the place.... anyway...

Today's Book is? Double Trouble by Golden. Yep, the last Golden book i have and it's the Big one.. Not in pages but page size. The only other Golden Sonic Book i know about is a 'Paint and Marker' book and i got very little info on that one.. no chance of having scans in the nearby future.

Well, we might be coming to the end of this range of book scans... why? Cause the first two Adventure game books by Ladybird aren't really possible to scan (too much is lost in the page fold due to... bad design), i can do the second two though. I can do the first Puzzle book, Then we get the tricky ones.. the English writen books are bigger then the american ones so it's gonna be a real pain writing up the first couple of chapters.. I'll probebly do one chapter, and then we have the Fantail Adventure game books.. very tricky to do them... So i got no idea how i will be doing those ones.. oh well, all good things huh?
Nothing Much - Posted on 5:56 PM CET Thursday 29 Jan 2009 In TESP News
Manic Man
TESP News icon Nothing much but 1 more removed feature for Sonic 1. I need to do a bit more research before i can say about another one i got to work on and put up. It seams Sonic 1 is probebly the game with the most changes. Which would make sense, a brand new game like this can undergo a number of changed before a style is picked...
Screenshots - Posted on 8:29 AM CET Thursday 29 Jan 2009 In TESP News
Manic Man
TESP News icon This really happened yestureday but i was a little short on time. Uped the missing screenshot on Sonic Blast MS Version, and added a screen for the Special Stage on both the GG version and MS. Oh and a reminded of how bad the MS convert is. It was kinda the last one done and only done in Brazil, they didn't change the code where it was needed so badniks (and more noticeable Robotnik in boss fights) disspear when close to the edge of the screen. This is because it is set to go off the edge of the GG screen and then come back were as the MS screen is bigger. In the main levels, the only real noticeable problem is the ring counter being soo far into the screen, but on the Special stages it is pretty bad, as you can see from the Screenshot.. same with the Level intros. Oh well

Manic Movie roles on - Posted on 9:40 PM CET Sunday 25 Jan 2009 In Fan Projects
Manic Man
Fan Projects icon Auditions are now completely open and try out lines are up for the Manic Movie Project being done by our friends at http://manicmovieproject.deviantart.com

I hope some of your guys can join them and help. I have nothing to do with this.. oh, apart from getting the one part ^_^. Good luck to Aisha. They aren't just looking for voices, there are a couple of other roles open to so check it out and support them.

If you get turned down from there or can't go for any of them roles, remember TSW is looking for people too. Just check the TSW Characters section to see which characters don't have VA's but right now, we are mostly looking for a couple of females (or even one that can do both.. or males that can do females) for the Roles of Mika Chipmonk and Tikal Echinda. They are really top of our list!
Call me Sonic X-treme! - Posted on 11:28 AM CET Sunday 25 Jan 2009 In TESP News
Manic Man
TESP News icon I had hoped to have Double trouble by Golden ready for today but oh well. Today i give you the first two chapters of Sonic X-treme by Troll, which means (as far as i know) that's all of Troll's series ^_^

Oh, i can't remember which site it was, but on site said about the Troll Books and then said about Sonic X-treme and that is was more a Pamphlet then book... that's wrong. It's the same size as all the other Troll Sonic Books. In fact, apart from problebly a couple of more images, it's just the same and follows on (though, unlike the others, not so directly from the last one).

Enjoy it!
Manic is gonna be nasty today - Posted on 6:57 PM CET Saturday 24 Jan 2009 In Articals
Manic Man
Articals icon I don't normally do this but i read something very funny which turned into someone being a comple idiot.. I'm not sure how wrote it but it's at Platypuscomix.net (it might be a good idea NOT to go there.. but you can if you like) on an artical about Video Games turned Comics.

First, i'll just skip over the bit saying Archie's Sonic the Comic is the most successful game based comic because there is alot of debate there and i don't wish to go into it. There is a little bit on the early Promo-advert Comic (NOT really the first EVER Comic of Sonic if you take little Promo-advert comics into account but again, i'll skip over that bit.

He says about how that Comic does the Kintobor Story line and then the guy adds "How many years did I assume that was the proper backstory behind the Sonic series? Don't ask." Well.. that is the PROPER Western Storyline ^_^ not the japanese one though. So just because it's not the oringial doesn't mean it's not the Proper one.. in fact, for a long time (even today really) the Japanese never set up HOW Sonic and Robotnik met. In the first game Sonic was just chasing Robotnik Yet again. So there is still nothing really against this (Neo did start saying Robotnik was the surname of the family but that's Neo trying to mix Eggman and Robotnik together in a way.)

This bit he then says next is very funny:

"A character with the derivative name of "Porker Lewis," who apparently could lose, appeared in the promotional comic. There was no pig in the game, but there was one in the first-released drawings of a proposed Sonic TV series. This leads me to believe (though theoretically) that Sonic cartoons were in pre-production before the first game was ever released."

well.. Picky AKA Porker Lewis.. wait, isn't in the first game? Then who is this?

All these years i thought THAT was a pig in Spring Yard... boy the things a big time Sonic fan can learn from a non-fan... Then it shows a picture of the SatAM Forerunner that we call 'The Freedom Team'... That is meant to be in pre-production before the first game was released? well.. it is possible, alot of market stuff comes out before what it is for and so, often features mistakes (a small note that the Legcay of Kain: Soul Reaver comic features information on the oringal ending which was cut (more information on this is at http://www.thelostworlds.net , a great site)) It then says about how the first Sonic story by Archie comics was based on this stuff (No, it was more based on LATER but early stuff which was around the time of the SatAM pilot episode 'Heads or Tails'). While he is correct to a point, the SatAM Characters are partly based on the game versions (not that show) BUT Princess Sally Acorn is based on Sally Acorn (Ricky), Boomber / Rotor is based on Joe Sushi, Bunnie is based on Johnny Lightfoot, Antoine wasn't really based on any one. Archie didn't come up with the characters based on the Freedom Team image.. those characters were more directly based on the Game characters.

He then goes into only talking about Archie Comics.. forgetting how much is changed based on other things like alot of American comics (and one of there downfalls). Sure, he might hate the Jokey style of the oringal comic but that was the style!

"Sonic is one of the only comics to start with a Number Zero. An oddball number for an oddball comic drawn by Scott Shaw Exclamation Point."

Nope.. Not by a Long Shot.. There are alot of comics that start with issue 0. Less but still a number that then HAVE an issue 0 (Marvel and DC have both down a time when they printed abunch of issue 0 storys). Just search with something like Google for issue 0 and you will find alot. and It's Scott Shaw! he is a very well known Cartoonists and while probebly not on my top ten list, he is very close and at times, is on the list, along with the likes of Sergio Aragones and Fred Hembeck. A side note, he has been spelling his name as Shaw! since he was 12 ^_^

The guy talks about how Mike Gallagher is to blame for the jokey style, not quite true but still, and how his style on Sonic was basicly just his Alf storys redone... the list of Gallagher style things he says about like jokey Corner Boxes, different spellings etc.. weren't new.. you can date them back way before Gallagher came around, though i will admit since that is the writers style, the writer is gonna do things in his style.. but the comic was meant to be a jokey style, like the upcoming 'AOSTH' cartoon really. He makes a comment about the cover of Sonic issue 3.. well, Volume 2 issue 3 ^_^;

He then goes on to the time when i found Archie started to go down hill (it is AMAZING that they can still find lower places to go.. Hey look! It's Hologram Lynx Nicole! ¬_¬). The Big story 'Eng Game'. He says about the evil Ken Penders (who also, by the way, is who Ben Hurst claims is the one that got the SatAM Movie project thrown out and gave Hurst a fairly nasty-ish phone call.. but i'm not a big fan of Hurst either so i can think that both are to blame and both have there major problems) And how the better format for Sonic is the "Penders' continuous soap opera format"... He comments that he wanted to kept Sally dead but plead-mail bought her back.. i can't comment, i'm not that up on Archie writer storyplots like that.. He does bring up some good news though "Penders has now left".. Not without draging the comic down...

So.... since it was meant to be talking about Games turn comics, what the hell was this? a little bit of info on the early comics, with alot of wrong info, and then some bits on Archie's sonic but mostly about Micheal Gallagher... Thank god by Articles in the Articles section (not these things) are pretty good when compared.

I have no idea why i wrote this today.. i just felt a little off i guess and found that tin-pot article and wondered how something like that can do pretty well, but this site doesn't... I mean, can't he ALTEST do a bit of research? i do ALOT of research and i am always researching and finding new things out about Sonic. Hard to believe but it's true. There is always something new to learn. Oh well.. hope you enjoyed reading this rant.
New Bag - Posted on 7:16 PM CET Friday 23 Jan 2009 In Sonic News
Manic Man
Sonic News icon A good new Classic Sonic DS Small bag has been released by Impact Innovations for about £12.99 (though i was able to get one at £9.99). It features nice Stanard Art of Sonic running, the Sonic logo and variations of. 3 Zip compactments with a blue Tag with 'Sonic the Hedgehog' embossed on it. the main pocket has 3 inner sections (One netted). It fits over your back with a body strap (to go under one arm, over the shoulder of the other side) with reflectic strips left and right of the back with a reflector on the front so it's good when you are out at nights. It also has a front netted compactment for.. probebly them tin-pot moble phones, i wouldn't know.

It's been comfirmed out at Game stores and you can (just about) get your Game gear in it it you don't have or want them DS things, but it is a little tight for a Game gear so it can be tricky to get one in ^_^

I hope to have an image on the Merchandise page and information soon (i Just need to take a good photo of it.
