I don't normally do this but i read something very funny which turned into someone being a comple idiot.. I'm not sure how wrote it but it's at Platypuscomix.net (it might be a good idea NOT to go there.. but you can if you like) on an artical about Video Games turned Comics.

First, i'll just skip over the bit saying Archie's Sonic the Comic is the most successful game based comic because there is alot of debate there and i don't wish to go into it. There is a little bit on the early Promo-advert Comic (NOT really the first EVER Comic of Sonic if you take little Promo-advert comics into account but again, i'll skip over that bit.

He says about how that Comic does the Kintobor Story line and then the guy adds "How many years did I assume that was the proper backstory behind the Sonic series? Don't ask." Well.. that is the PROPER Western Storyline ^_^ not the japanese one though. So just because it's not the oringial doesn't mean it's not the Proper one.. in fact, for a long time (even today really) the Japanese never set up HOW Sonic and Robotnik met. In the first game Sonic was just chasing Robotnik Yet again. So there is still nothing really against this (Neo did start saying Robotnik was the surname of the family but that's Neo trying to mix Eggman and Robotnik together in a way.)

This bit he then says next is very funny:

"A character with the derivative name of "Porker Lewis," who apparently could lose, appeared in the promotional comic. There was no pig in the game, but there was one in the first-released drawings of a proposed Sonic TV series. This leads me to believe (though theoretically) that Sonic cartoons were in pre-production before the first game was ever released."

well.. Picky AKA Porker Lewis.. wait, isn't in the first game? Then who is this?

All these years i thought THAT was a pig in Spring Yard... boy the things a big time Sonic fan can learn from a non-fan... Then it shows a picture of the SatAM Forerunner that we call 'The Freedom Team'... That is meant to be in pre-production before the first game was released? well.. it is possible, alot of market stuff comes out before what it is for and so, often features mistakes (a small note that the Legcay of Kain: Soul Reaver comic features information on the oringal ending which was cut (more information on this is at http://www.thelostworlds.net , a great site)) It then says about how the first Sonic story by Archie comics was based on this stuff (No, it was more based on LATER but early stuff which was around the time of the SatAM pilot episode 'Heads or Tails'). While he is correct to a point, the SatAM Characters are partly based on the game versions (not that show) BUT Princess Sally Acorn is based on Sally Acorn (Ricky), Boomber / Rotor is based on Joe Sushi, Bunnie is based on Johnny Lightfoot, Antoine wasn't really based on any one. Archie didn't come up with the characters based on the Freedom Team image.. those characters were more directly based on the Game characters.

He then goes into only talking about Archie Comics.. forgetting how much is changed based on other things like alot of American comics (and one of there downfalls). Sure, he might hate the Jokey style of the oringal comic but that was the style!

"Sonic is one of the only comics to start with a Number Zero. An oddball number for an oddball comic drawn by Scott Shaw Exclamation Point."

Nope.. Not by a Long Shot.. There are alot of comics that start with issue 0. Less but still a number that then HAVE an issue 0 (Marvel and DC have both down a time when they printed abunch of issue 0 storys). Just search with something like Google for issue 0 and you will find alot. and It's Scott Shaw! he is a very well known Cartoonists and while probebly not on my top ten list, he is very close and at times, is on the list, along with the likes of Sergio Aragones and Fred Hembeck. A side note, he has been spelling his name as Shaw! since he was 12 ^_^

The guy talks about how Mike Gallagher is to blame for the jokey style, not quite true but still, and how his style on Sonic was basicly just his Alf storys redone... the list of Gallagher style things he says about like jokey Corner Boxes, different spellings etc.. weren't new.. you can date them back way before Gallagher came around, though i will admit since that is the writers style, the writer is gonna do things in his style.. but the comic was meant to be a jokey style, like the upcoming 'AOSTH' cartoon really. He makes a comment about the cover of Sonic issue 3.. well, Volume 2 issue 3 ^_^;

He then goes on to the time when i found Archie started to go down hill (it is AMAZING that they can still find lower places to go.. Hey look! It's Hologram Lynx Nicole! ¬_¬). The Big story 'Eng Game'. He says about the evil Ken Penders (who also, by the way, is who Ben Hurst claims is the one that got the SatAM Movie project thrown out and gave Hurst a fairly nasty-ish phone call.. but i'm not a big fan of Hurst either so i can think that both are to blame and both have there major problems) And how the better format for Sonic is the "Penders' continuous soap opera format"... He comments that he wanted to kept Sally dead but plead-mail bought her back.. i can't comment, i'm not that up on Archie writer storyplots like that.. He does bring up some good news though "Penders has now left".. Not without draging the comic down...

So.... since it was meant to be talking about Games turn comics, what the hell was this? a little bit of info on the early comics, with alot of wrong info, and then some bits on Archie's sonic but mostly about Micheal Gallagher... Thank god by Articles in the Articles section (not these things) are pretty good when compared.

I have no idea why i wrote this today.. i just felt a little off i guess and found that tin-pot article and wondered how something like that can do pretty well, but this site doesn't... I mean, can't he ALTEST do a bit of research? i do ALOT of research and i am always researching and finding new things out about Sonic. Hard to believe but it's true. There is always something new to learn. Oh well.. hope you enjoyed reading this rant.
