RIP - Jon D'Agostino
I've been thinking of doing these when someone connected to Sonic dies and now is as good a time as any to start.
Jon D'Agostino has died the morning of the 29th November 2010. Born in Italy in 1929 (So he was 81 when he died) he moved to america when a kid and attended the Industrial School of Art in LA. He started in Comics as a Colourist for Timely comics, who became Atlas Comics, who became Marvel Comics. He became the head of the Colouring department for a few years. In the 50s and 60s, he did alot of pencieling and inking work for Charlton Comics and since then, mostly for Archie comics. He did a brief tim on Marvel Comics throughout this time as letterer & Inker.
By the 1990s, he was pretty much only inking for Archie Comics, where, among other titles, he did Sonic the Hedgehog. Sadly, TESP search engine has a little trouble with his name (i'll work on fixing it) but he started Inking Sonic the Hedgehog with Issue 2 of the Regular Series and went up to Issue 38 as well as Inking the Covers for the Princess Sally Mini-Series and doing cover inking for 'In your face!', Story 'Fire Drill' inking for 'Sonic And Knuckles', Story 'First Contact' inking for 'Triple Trouble' & Story 'The Hunt is on' for 'Knuckles Chaotix'.
He went under a number of names as 'Johnny Dee', 'John D'Agostino' (His real Name) & 'Matt Bakerino'. Not to be confused with (though often is) 'Tony D'Agostino' (Aka 'Tony Dagos', or just 'D'Agostino'), 'John Duffi' or 'John Duffy'.
